Yale Hauptman is a graduate of Rutgers College (B.A. 1986) and Albany Law School (J.D. 1989). After serving for a year as law clerk to the Honorable John C. Stritehoff of the Superior Court of New Jersey, he entered private practice. Early in his career he began providing assistance to clients and his own family in what he later came to recognize as the field of elder law. He established his own firm in 1995, joined by his wife, Laurie in 1998, devoted exclusively to elder and disability law.
Yale is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the New Jersey Bar Association’s Elder Law Section. He is a frequent author and lecturer on elder law topics and also is the host of Elder Law Today Podcast, an audio podcast and blog devoted to the legal and financial issues facing families with aging loved ones.
Laurie Hauptman is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton (B.A. 1986) and Hofstra Law School (J.D. 1989). For 8 years she was a trial attorney at a personal injury law firm before joining forces with Yale in 1998. Laurie’s courtroom experience is essential to her role handling the firm’s court work, including guardianships, conservatorships and special needs trusts.
Laurie and Yale are the proud parents of three children. They are raising their family in the same community in which they are building their practice. This gives them the unique opportunity to identify the needs of the population around them. The Hauptmans are active members of both civic and religious organizations.
Eric Goldberg graduated Cornell University (B.S., 1990). He received his law degree from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D., 1994).
Eric brings to Hauptman & Hauptman complementary skills acquired through years of experience in real estate law, tax law, and personal finance. He has lectured extensively and has been quoted in the Star Ledger on estate planning topics. Eric’s compassion and knowledge of the interplay between finance, tax law, and government benefits make him well suited to advise clients on the complexities of long term care planning.
Eric is an avid mountain biker and enjoys spending time with his wife, two boys, and Golden Retriever.
