Welcome! To those of you who are already members of the Hauptman Law Family, I want to introduce you to our new and improved newsletter. Many of you have been receiving our blog posts weekly and we’ve received some great feedback. But it’s been too long (3 years to be exact) since we’ve had an old fashioned, hard copy newsletter. So we are rolling out our brand new newsletter this month to coincide with the 16th birthday of our firm.
When I opened the doors to Hauptman Law (the other Hauptman didn’t join me until 3 years later), we were quite small. Actually, it was just me. My family was just beginning to grow as well. My oldest son, Andrew, had just turned one. But now Andrew is 17 and driving and Laurie and I have two teenagers, a preteen, and a dog. As our children approach adulthood, the challenges of parenting are different than they were 16 years ago.
Over the years, our office has seen similar growth. Our third attorney, Eric Goldberg, joined us and now we have a staff of 12 as our firm has reached maturity. The services we offer changed too, as our clients’ needs have evolved. As the oldest baby boomers begin to turn 65 this year, we will – I am sure – continue to see great change in the next 20 years in what it means to take what we call the elder care journey.
The year 1946 is featured as the theme of this first issue, the year our oldest boomers were born, and the year that many of the World War II “greatest generation” Veterans returned home from Europe and Asia. All of our newsletters will have a historic theme, each issue focusing on a different year and hopefully bringing back some joyful memories. We will have a little something for everyone, issues for every decade and every generation. Some of you may remember going to basketball games with your grandparents as a kid, or maybe you take your children with you now. August’s issue will be all about 1955, the year the Brooklyn Dodgers won the World Series!
You’ll get a smorgasbord of offerings from us. Cartoons, trivia, games, contests and articles by guest writers. But we also want to recognize you, our readers, clients, and affiliates. For example, we even have a whole section dedicated to sharing Veteran stories. We do a lot of work with Veterans and their families and are always interested to hear the stories of our elderly clients and how they served our country patriotically and heroically. If you have a story you’d be willing to share, we would love to hear it from you and feature you in our “A Soldier’s Story” section.
That’s just a small sampling of what we have planned. We at Hauptman & Hauptman love helping our clients and their families and we consider you a part of our family. We hope you enjoy hearing from us, maybe finding something that makes you chuckle and something that you find helpful and insightful. If you are not on our mailing list but would like to receive our newsletter, send an e-mail to contact@HauptmanLaw.com with your name and mailing address.
